About the Journal
Maritime Intelligence, Security & Cyber Threats Research (MARINTSEC)
Welcome to MARINTSEC, an international journal dedicated to serving as a scientific forum for researchers in the maritime field. Our commitment is to accelerate research that contributes to the long-term development of the maritime industry.
Mission and Scope
The inclusion of "Intelligence" in MARINTSEC's title broadens the journal's scope in two significant ways. Firstly, "Maritime Intelligence" encompasses studies that involve acquiring knowledge, applying that knowledge in practice, and developing solutions for maritime problems. Secondly, our journal aims to promote intelligence and security studies within the maritime domain. This includes examining diverse security threats and vulnerabilities, such as piracy, terrorism, smuggling, and other illicit activities, and proposing robust solutions to mitigate these risks.
Focus Areas
- Maritime Intelligence: Reflecting studies on gaining and applying knowledge to address maritime challenges.
- Security: Exploring various security threats and vulnerabilities, and presenting solutions to mitigate risks in the maritime sector.
- Cybersecurity: Analyzing the growing cyber threats targeting maritime infrastructure, vessels, and communication systems, and proposing innovative cybersecurity measures to safeguard the industry from cyber attacks and data breaches. This focus is crucial for ensuring a sustainable maritime supply chain.
